We have adopted two policies in response to inequalities in access to the benefits of professional philosophy conferences. These policies are under continuous review by our Equalities Officer, who can be contacted through our About page with suggestions.

Equalities Policy

In response to the BPA/SWIP Good Practice Scheme, BSET has adopted a set of policies to address the impact that social or economic status can have on an individual’s ability to participate in our conferences and organisation.

Policy on Harassment and Unwelcoming Behaviour

BSET is dedicated to providing a welcoming conference in which everyone is comfortable. In response to concerns about the atmosphere of philosophy conferences in general, we have developed a policy on harassment and unwelcoming behaviour. We hope that other professional philosophy organisations will follow our lead.

As part of this policy, you can report harassment or unwelcoming behaviour at our conference, anonymously if you prefer. (Please note the online form is being redesigned, and will be live within two days. Thanks for your patience.)
